The LIONS Home School sports program began as a part of the HEARTS Home School program which offers classes to assist home schooling families with high school level courses. In order to reach more families with our sports program, we created a separate identity beginning in 2016, but we are still associated with HEARTS who provide our administration and oversight. Although we still have a special tie with the HEARTS community, we welcome ALL home schooled students in the Northern Virginia area with most of our athletes living in the McLean, Chantilly to Leesburg triangle. Most our team practice at facilities or fields in the Sterling, Reston and Herndon area.
Our teams have competed across Northern VA for the last decade. We compete in the NVIAC and play against various home school and private school teams such as Fairfax Homeschool, Christ Chapel Academy and Fairfax Christian School. The LIONS Sports Program has fielded volleyball, basketball and soccer teams for many years and has recently added cross country, track, and swimming.
